Terms of Use
Last updated: 15 August 2026
These Terms govern your use of Chordhead.
By using Chordhead, you agree to these Terms
Using Chordhead
Chordhead is a music and chord-progression tool designed to help musicians explore chords, harmony and musical possibilities.
You may use Chordhead for personal or commercial music-making.
You remain responsible for the music, chord progressions and other material you create using Chordhead.
Accounts
Some features require a Chordhead account.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your account and for activity that occurs through it.
You must provide accurate information where required and must not misuse Chordhead or attempt to interfere with its security or operation.
Chordhead Pro
Some Chordhead features require a paid Chordhead Pro subscription.
Available subscription plans, prices and trial offers are displayed in the app before purchase.
Subscriptions purchased through the App Store are billed and managed by Apple.
Unless cancelled, subscriptions automatically renew in accordance with the terms presented by Apple at the time of purchase.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account settings.
Deleting your Chordhead account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription.
Free trials
Where a free trial is offered, eligibility is determined by Apple.
Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription will convert to a paid subscription at the price shown when you started the trial.
Changes to pricing or features
We may change Chordhead’s features, subscription options or pricing from time to time.
Any subscription price changes will be handled in accordance with the rules of the platform through which you purchased the subscription.
Your music
Chordhead does not claim ownership of music you create using the app.
Any rights you have in your original music remain yours.
Chord names, chord progressions and music-theory concepts themselves may not necessarily be subject to copyright protection, and Chordhead does not guarantee that a progression you discover is unique.
Saved content
Chordhead may allow you to save progressions locally or to your account.
While we take reasonable steps to provide a reliable service, you should not treat Chordhead as the sole permanent backup of important creative work.
Availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of Chordhead where reasonably necessary.
We do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
Acceptable use
You must not:
attempt to gain unauthorised access to Chordhead or its systems;
deliberately interfere with the service;
reverse-engineer or exploit the service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
use Chordhead in a way that violates applicable law.
Intellectual property
Chordhead, including its software, branding, illustrations, interface and original content, is owned by or licensed to Chordhead and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of Chordhead itself to you.
Disclaimer
Chordhead provides tools and suggestions based on music theory and software rules.
Music is subjective, and Chordhead does not guarantee that any suggested chord, progression or voicing will be musically appropriate for a particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, Chordhead is provided without guarantees beyond those that cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Chordhead is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Termination
You may stop using Chordhead at any time.
We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of serious misuse, fraud, security risks or legal requirements.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Chordhead develops.
The current version will always be available on this page.
